CELEBRATING THE PAST

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE

A toast from our family to yours

Two Decades of Dreams, Dedication, and Winemaking

On February 13, 2004, we embarked on a journey that was as daunting as it was exhilarating — shifting from the fast-paced corporate world to one built on centuries of craftsmanship and tradition. This venture was inspired by a simple yet profound desire: to create something enduring and beautiful that could bring people together in celebration of life's most precious moments.

Our story is not just about wine; it's a narrative of change, growth, and the endless pursuit of excellence. It begins with a leap of faith, leaving behind the security of successful careers for the unpredictable world of viticulture. This was a decision driven by a shared passion for wine and its unique ability to capture the essence of time and place, to foster connections, and to tell a story in every glass.

Fantesca Estate & Winery was founded on the belief that wine should be as rich and complex as the stories behind it. Our name, inspired by the Italian theater character La Fantesca — a rebel known for her wit, intelligence, and charm — reflects our approach to winemaking: creating wines that delight, inspire, and bring joy to those who share them.

From the early days, when our children would be the first volunteers to help sort fruit or bottle new vintages, to the present, where they've taken on roles that shape our future, this has been a family journey in every sense. Taylor and Chelsea, once young helpers in the vineyard, now lead with innovation and a deep respect for the land that gives us so much.

Our winemaking philosophy has always been guided by a commitment to excellence, sustainability, and the art of storytelling through wine. We've been fortunate to collaborate with visionaries, including Kirk and Nils Venge who crafted our first vintages, and Heidi Barrett and Tony Arcudi, whose expertise and passion have elevated our wines to new heights. Their mentorship has not only enriched our vineyard but has also inspired a new generation of winemakers in our family.

As we celebrate 20 years of Fantesca, we reflect on the bonds formed, the challenges overcome, and the countless moments of joy shared with our "Fan Fam" — the endearing term our very own DLynn Proctor coined to refer to our extended family of wine enthusiasts who have joined us on this remarkable journey. Your support, enthusiasm, and love for our wines have been the greatest reward, reminding us why we embarked on this adventure.

Looking forward, we are filled with excitement for the innovations and experiences we plan to share with you. We are deepening our dedication to sustainability and stewardship of the land, ensuring the legacy of Fantesca can be enjoyed for generations to come. Our commitment to crafting exceptional wines, fostering community, and celebrating the beauty of life remains as resolute as it was on day one.

As we raise our glasses to two decades of Fantesca Estate & Winery, we invite you to join us in celebrating the past, savoring the present, and toasting to the future. Here’s to the next 20 years of shared stories, laughter, and exquisite wine.

With heartfelt gratitude and joy,

Susan & Duane Hoff
