Mardi Gras is a holiday steeped in Creole and Catholic traditions that is synonymous with frolicking fun, masquerading and revelry. We are thrilled to announce that Fantesca will be returning to celebrate Mardi Gras in style for 2022 four years after Duane and Susan Hoff were honored as King and Queen of the Krewe of Mid-City, serving as his and her royal majesties. The Hoff’s have celebrated Mardi Gras with the Krewe of Mid-City since 2001 and are delighted to invite our collectors of Fantesca Estate & Winery to be part of the royal festivities in 2022.
Join us for a private dinner as we pair New Orlean’s culinary excellence with a taste of Napa Valley. Fantesca’s Director DLynn Proctor will guide guests through a curated wine list featuring Fantesca’s Russian River Chardonnay, King Richard’s Reserve Pinot Noir, All Great Things Red Blend, and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon. Following our intimate dinner, we’ll travel downstairs to Canal Street to watch the Krewe of Muses—one of the most celebrated Krewes in New Orleans.
Cocktail dresses for women, jackets and collared shirts for men are required. Comfortable shoes recommended.
Join their majesties King & Queen LXXXV of the Krewe of Mid-City for the must-see event of Mardi Gras. The royal court is presented in a performance that takes you through a fairytale experience during the times of kings and queens, bringing the Mardi Gras theme to life. The Krewe of Mid-City is one of the few krewes that still holds a traditional Supper Dance. This is an exciting opportunity to celebrate with each other and retain the social quality that Mardi Gras has meant for the South. Ladies are expected to wear long ball gowns and gloves covering their elbows, and gentlemen attire is equality exquisite in tuxedos or military dress uniforms.
By extension of Fantesca’s Proprietors Susan & Duane Hoff—and Krewe of Mid-City’s 2018 King & Queen—members of Fantesca have a unique opportunity to join as float riders for the 2022 Krewe of Mid-City Parade. Established in 1933, the Krewe of Mid-City is the fifth oldest continually operating Krewe in New Orlean’s Mardi Gras. The Krewe is considered a “boutique” organization because it is limited to 300 participants annually, which makes those positions highly coveted and in high demand.
Members who choose to ride and throw beads will be placed together on a special Fantesca float. Those who do not wish will ride will have the opportunity to watch the parade from reserved stands on Canal Street. All participants will be invited to a special post-parade celebration at a location to be announced.
