Roman Montanez

Born and bred in Napa Valley, Roman Montanez's affinity for the region's renowned wine culture stems from a blend of his family's culinary roots and a profound passion for the local vineyards. From childhood days at his family's restaurant to his burgeoning career in the wine industry, Roman's journey is both rich and diverse.

Roman's professional path has been anything but linear. His commitment to community service saw him serve as a police officer, followed by years in welfare services. However, the allure of a career in the wine industry was irresistible. Roman's first opportunity began as a wine educator at Quintessa. His prowess quickly led to a promotion into Hospitality Management, and his contributions to the wine community only grew from there.

Soonafter, Roman took an opportunity to blend his knowledge of wine and passion to support his community by taking a role with Napa Valley Vintners where he represented a staggering 95% of the region's wineries and played a key role in orchestrating iconic events such as Auction Napa Valley and Premiere Napa Valley.

Roman's previous experience includes tenures as the Hospitality and Allocation Manager at Viader and the Director of Hospitality at Vice Versa. Today, he brings this wealth of knowledge to Fantesca in the role of Hospitality Manager.

Beyond the vineyards and tasting rooms, Roman loves to explore Napa Valley with his wife and two wonderful children. His story is a testament to the love for Napa Valley – from its wines to its community.
